    Hallo, I want to ask a question. I'm installing win 11, but when I tried to install msix file my non system drive SSD suddenly spiking to 100% without even going down. I tried to turn of defender and still no changes and I've tried Soo many ways still not fixing anything at all. This all begins when I can't boot after having stop code too many times, so I just clean boot but after that my non system drive SSD having issue with 100% ACTIVITY when idle or try to install big software.

    Hi,

    SSD 100% active but not writing causing system to hang

    Have looked around and looks like AHCI control was the cause of this problem however, have followed reccomendations on adding AHCI option to power management and changing the settings with no success. The sytem still freezes and although the mouse moves, programs stop responding and C: drive goes 100% active but does not write, after a short period (25-40 secconds)drive goes back to normal and programs start working again.

    I have a mix of HDD and SSD drives

    AHCI is enabled in the system BIOS

    Drive C: and E: are SSD's The others conventional HDD's

    SSD Benchmarking tool tells me Main Windows boot drive (CNon System Drive SSD 100% activity without read and write. :) is running under Standard Duel Channel PCI IDE controller, ALL other drives using Standard SATA AHCI controller. I believe this could be what is affecting the performance.

    Can I change the controller for the C: drive from IDE to AHCI (without having to reformat drive/reinstall windows) ? How?

    Disk Activity at 100% with low Read/Write

    Windows Version: 20H2 OS Build 19042.804


    Hey Everyone,

    I recently updated from W7 to W10 and now my PC has been running very slow.

    My disk usage is typically no higher than 40% however I am pretty much always at 100% active.

    I have tried multiple things online; however I cannot figure out what is the cause.

    I tried
    1. Disabling search/superfetch
    2. Resetting page file
    3. Disk Check
    4. Disable Windows Update

    Any Help Is Appreciated! Thanks!

    Hard Drive constantly at or near 100% read/write

    Thanks for the suggestion. I see very little activity in the Network tab. I hope this helps.
