Non-working of Touchpad and missing of some drivers from Device manager

    Hello,

I have been using Dell Inspiron 15 3542 laptop.

I have recently installed Windows 10 Pro 32-bit in my computer. Everything works fine except the touchpad.

The Touchpad driver was not shown in Device manager. Even in settings, only mouse can be seen and there are no settings for touchpad. I have tried all the means to make my touchpad work but everything went in vain.

I was unable to find the missing drivers also. I think the missing drivers are related to Serial I/O drivers which are not available anywhere.

People with a solution, kindly help me in solving these problems.

    :)

My touchpad is missing from the Device Manager and is no longer working

    Hi,

I have a brand new Lenovo LAPTOP-A11TUN29 with Windows 10 Pro. I was searching for information on reversing the direction of the touchpad scrolling. I came across information on a thread here about updating drivers. After doing so and restarting my computer,
the touchpad stopped working completely. When I tried to go back and update the drivers again, the touchpad was completely missing from the Device Manager (before doing so I attached a wireless mouse and am currently using that. That device is listed as the
only device under 'mice and other pointing devices'.)

What can I do to have the touchpad listed under device manager again so that it will work?

    Thanks for any helpful advice.

  3. Touchpad has quit working - Drivers are not showing up in Device Manager

    Hello czarkhasm.

    Thanks for publishing your query.

Please follow the steps below to solve your problem:

1 In Start, find Device Manager and select from the list of results. In Mouse and other pointing devices, select the touch panel, open it, choose the Driver tab and select Update driver. If Windows is not a new driver, look for one on the device manufacturer's
    website and follow the instructions.

2 If those steps have not worked, try uninstalling the touchpad driver: open Device Manager, right-click (or press and hold) the touchpad driver and select Uninstall. Restart the device and Windows will try to reinstall the driver.

3 If that does not work, try using the generic driver that is included with Windows. Follow these steps: in Device Manager, right-click on the audio driver (or keep it pressed)> Update driver software ...> Browse the computer to find driver software> Let me
choose it from a list of drivers Device compatible with mouse with HID, select Next and follow the instructions to install it.

If the problem is not solved by changing the driver, there may be a problem with the touch panel. For help, contact the PC manufacturer.

Imaging Devices missing in Device Manager and Webcam doesn't working

    Hi,

Since you mentioned that the said driver is missing in Device Manager, what we suggest is for you to check in the Hidden Devices section on Device Manager. Kindly follow the steps below:

      Device Manager.

      Show Hidden Devices.
    • Check for the webcam under Imaging Devices.
    • If the webcam is listed, then right-click on it and select
      Update Driver Software
    • Select Browse My Computer for Driver Software and follow the prompted steps.
Please post back with the result for further assistance
