None of my USB devices are functioning anymore Windows 10

I left my Windows 10 PC on last night and when I started using it this morning, none of my USB devices i.e. mouse + keyboard where working. They do not seem to be powered on since their LEDs are not on either.

Here is what I have tried and have established at this point:

    - The USB devices will work when connected to a different PC
    - The USB devices won't work on this PC regardless of which USB port they are connected to
    - The USB devices won't work on this PC even if they are the only USB device connected
    - The USB devices do power on and are functioning while the PC is posting. I am able to enter my UEFI BIOS using the keyboard and mouse.
    - The LEDs turn off once the Windows 10 loading screen shows up. From then onwards the devices will not work anymore.
    - In Windows 10 "rescue mode" not sure if this is the correct term, after force powering off the PC while running, the mouse will work immediately and the keyboard will start working after ~30 seconds or so. I am able to navigate and interact with the various restore and recovery items.
    - Restoring a System Restore Point from a couple days ago when the devices were definitely still working does not fix the issue.

    What I haven't done yet:
    - Tried uninstalling recent Windows software updates that seems to be an item in "rescue mode"
    - Tried looking for some logs or error messages that might indicate what the problem is. Not sure where to start for that, I assume I might be able to find those using the Command Line in "rescue mode"?

Given that the devices work in the UEFI BIOS and they stop working the second the Windows bootscreen shows up, I am almost certain that there's some kind of Windows USB issue. Since as far as I understand new updates were rolled out a day or two ago, I hope that uninstalling the most recent updates might fix the issue.

I not, I would greatly appreciate any help on how to proceed here, other than reinstalling Windows from scratch.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

    There is three options:
    Windows 10
    Windows 10 Home
    Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

    System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks

    Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

    1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
    2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
    3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!
