Windows 10: Norton 360 wont run on this version of Windows... (update 1511 10586.3

MS made me update a couple of days ago. I just discovered this morning that it disabled Norton 360. It also removed CCLeaner, and turned off my Norton firewall. I have to reauthorize some other products but my main problem is that I don't know if I have antivirus anymore..
I try to turn Windows Defender on and it tells me that it is off but I have no option t turn it on. Norton wont open, is no longer on the bar at the bottom but is listed in "APPs", but like I said, wont open.
I tried to reinstall but I get a popup in the lower right telling me that Norton 360 wont run on this version of Windows.
It comes free with Comcast/Xfinity and has always worked well, until now. I did manage to turn the Windows firewall on. I set the default browser to EDGE, which I DO NOT like because it rearranges all of my favorites.
I cannot find an answer. I am just about ready to move to a MacBook for regular use. I have an offline computer for audio work. I have not upgraded it to W-10 and frankly I'm scared to. It has no antivirus because it has no email and very limited online use... ok, I digress.
What do I do to get Norton Working?
I posted the question on the Xfinity board and will on the Norton forums.

non functional windows camera

I saw only \usbvideo.sys" and "…\ksthunk.sys. But it is not the driver thats the problem. After updating windows to version 1511 build 10586.3, the problem, whatever it was, was
fixed.

 

Am I already using Windows 10 Final Version ? (Build 10240)

That's odd, because I have build 10586.3 installed. Version 1511.

 

I fixed it, took most of the day. I finally rolled back to the earlier version of Windows. CCleaner came back BUT I checked, Norton had not scanned my system since 9/29/15!!! Prior to that it was scanning regularly I had not noticed. I am NOT happy with Windows-10. I've about had it. I'm about ready to get a MacBook for the web and keep my DAW on Windows. I hardly ever go online with it and it doesn't have anything on it except recording programs, Acronis, and a few other things.
I feel like dealing with MS is like dealing with the government, I just don't like the whole attitude of "WE Updated Your PC".. They shuld have said "You Updated Your PC"... small things like that matter, it shows their arrogance... and my files were NOT right where I left them.

What version of Windows 10 are you talking about? I have the most recent public update for windows 10 and my Norton 360 always was working and still is.

 

Make sure you are using Norton 22.5 or later as that's needed for Windows 10... The latest Norton version is 22.5.2.15 but you can get the latest installers here and liveupdate to the newest...
