Windows 10: Not able to access D and F drive even after doing most of the solutions in Microsoft Support.

Hi guys, so 2 days ago my computer restarted randomly after I close my game and I couldn't access anything in my F drive. My 1 TB drive is partitioned into D and F drives. The drive being unaccessable has happened twice before but it was resolved after restarting my PC. Though right now, I've tried the following steps:1. Run cmd prompt as admin and run the chkdsk commands which returned "The drive type is RAW"2. Restarting my PC several times and interchanging the ports with the C drive, which told me the C drive is working properly.3. Tried to take ownership of drive. In this, sometimes on re

Based on the information you have provided in your post; we need to do further investigation. To assist you better, we'd like to know the following:

• Have you tried using a third party software to manage the disk partition?
• Did you format the drive?

We suggest that you check for the drive in the Disk Management and look if it appears. Follow these steps:

• Log on as administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
• Press Windows+R key and type diskmgmt.msc and then click OK.

Look if the Drive F: appears and check if it is unallocated.

Cannot access D drive since upgrading to Windows 10.

  Is the D: drive located on the same hard disk or on different hard disk?
  
• 
  Did you have any important data saved on the
  D: drive?
  

If the D: is saved on another hard disk and you are unable to access it, I suggest you to format the drive completely and check if the issue is resolved.



To format the hard disk, follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Disk management option.
  
• 
  Right click on the D: drive and select
  Format option.
  
• 
  Wait for the formatting to complete and check if the changes are effective.

Drive D appears with question mark in explorer and is not accessible even after updating drivers

We understand the difficulties that you are unable to access the D drive on the PC.
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed on the PC? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
• ​Is the D: drive an internal drive or an external hard drive?
• Are you aware of any changes prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps.



Method 1: Run Chkdsk

Checks the file system and file system metadata of a volume for logical and physical errors.
We would suggest you to refer this article and perform
CHKDSK/f on the PC.



Method 2: Update the hardware drivers.

We would suggest you to click on Detect Driver tab beside “Let us analyze your system to find the latest updates” from
Dell Website and follow the onscreen steps. Also, if the Dell
Alienware 15 R2 is running Intel storage, then install and update the

Intel driver
