Not able to access original user folder with its account

My computer had 1 user account but now it has 3 and has made a local account which when I login says that I need to sign out to keep unsaved items. I can’t access the original user folder or the account that uses it because it says to sign out when I log in and it doesn’t save anything.Any assistance would be welcome

    :)

Can't Modify Folders Without Original Account

You can try taking ownership of the user folder in Users.

    • Right click the folder which is the name of the old user (in C:\Users)
    • Select Properties
    • Select the tab labeled Security
    • Click the button labeled Advanced
    • At the top it will say Owner - it will say who is the owner and it will have a link that says
Change. Click Change and allow UAC by clicking
Yes after typing the proper password (if necessary).
    • Type the name of the user account that is an administrator
    • Click OK
Finish clicking out by clicking OK until you are back at just the Windows Explorer window.

You should now be able to access the folder and its contents using the method I described in a previous answer to this specific issue - specifically steps 8 and 9.

    • Double click the name of the old account.
    • You will be prompted to provide Administrator access to the folder (this will allow you to open all of the folders in the user folder of the old user account).

Can't Modify Folders Without Original Account

It appears you've been following some incorrect or incomplete instructions regarding User Accounts on your computer. I'll take you through the steps to manage the accounts and attempt to steer you in the right direction for accessing the data in the old
    account.

    • Open Settings (the little gear thingy on the Start Menu) and you should see a tile for Accounts.
    • If you are logged in as an Administrator user, the text below your username will indicate so, and you will see in the list on the left hand side "Family and other people".
    • You should be able at this point to remove old accounts, and when you do so, you should select the option to keep the files, however, I'll say for the sake of extreme caution to do any changes at this screen after you have your files safely in another location
      on the hard drive.
    • Provided you are logged in as an Administrator user, you will absolutely be able to access the data in the other user account.
    • Close Settings and now open Windows Explorer. You can do this by clicking the yellow folder icon on the taskbar next to the icon for Edge, or you may open the Start Menu and scroll down to Windows System, click that, and then click File Explorer.
    • Once you have Windows Explorer open, click on This PC, then double click the tile for Drive (CNot able to access original user folder with its account :).
    • Double click Users.
    • Double click the name of the old account.
    • You will be prompted to provide Administrator access to the folder (this will allow you to open all of the folders in the user folder of the old user account).
There may be data that is stored elsewhere. I do not know if you used OneDrive with the old account and have limited knowledge of how to retrieve such data other than logging into OneDrive to access it. There may be other circumstances I am not aware of
relating to this problem, however if you only need to access items stored in the standard user folders, the steps above should do the trick Not able to access original user folder with its account :)
