Not able to activate retail windows 10 in brand new laptop? I had purchased the retail product in 2019 but now it is not activating, windows is always asking me to get a geniune product key?

Windows 10 pro retail key. how to use.

I purchased Windows 10 pro retail key on my old laptop. I purchase new laptop without Windows 10. Can I activate new laptop with old windows 10 retail key.

 

Windows 10 Pro RETAIL will NOT activate

I am attempting to activate Windows 10 Pro on a Laptop that apparently was never updated to Windows 10. The BIOS of the laptop says it had Windows 8.1 on it when sold. I am using a brand-new RETAIL windows 10 Pro kit from 2019 for activation. The RETAIL Windows 10 Pro kit was completely sealed and never used. I receive the following error when entering the activation key:

"The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again or enter a different one." (0xc004f050)

What is going on here? I saw news online that Microsoft was investigating activation issues back in mid-November but didn't find anything that said the issue was identified and resolved.

I have attempted to activate Windows 10 Pro using the USB drive included in the retail kit (software from 2019), and also using an ISO that I downloaded directly from Microsoft (version 22H2). Both methods yielded the same activation error.

Please help.
