Windows 10: Not able to burn files via file Explorer while I can burn files via window media player

Win10 file explorer always complains needing more space and that amount of space is exactly the total file size I want to burn into DVD disc. But, I can burn the same set of files, media files only, via window media player included in win10.

The above issue might have occurred due to some of the corrupted/missing files present while burning the CD.



Before we assist further, I would like to ask you a few questions:

• Are the files protected?
• Do you see any mark on the files you are trying to burn?

Follow the steps below to delete the corrupted/missing files while burning the CD and check if the issue is resolved.

• Open Windows Media Player, copy the files you want to burn and click
  Start burn option.
• When the error message “Windows Media Player cannot burn some of the files. Ti investigate the problem, click the icon next to the files in burn list” appears, click on
  OK.
• From the left hand side of the window, click on Blank Disk. The files you are trying to burn should appear. One or more files should have a while
  X in a red circle to its left, these are the files that will not burn to the CD/DVD.
• Remove the files with the icon and the burn should work.

For your current question, I would like to know what file you are having problems burning? If you are currently burning other files is it working? I'm wondering if you burned a large number of files at once when this burn failed? If so, you can also try burning fewer files first to check if there is a problem with a specific file.



The default burning speed (fastest) may also cause Windows Media Player to fail to burn some files. Therefore, try changing the burning speed to see if this error is eliminated.

• On the interface of Windows Media Player, click Organize > Options.
  
• On the newly popping-up window, please switch to the Burn tab and then select either Medium or Slow. Save the changes by clicking Apply and OK.
  

Also, since Windows Media Player has not been updated for a long time, it is possible that Windows Media Player itself has compatibility issues with this file, resulting in burning failure. So, you can try burning the file using a third-party application to see if there are still problems. This will help us to confirm whether there is a problem with the Windows Media Player application or with the file itself.

Burning music files using windows media player and windows10

After dragging music files into burn list and selecting start burn, I get the following message.

"Windows Media Player cannot burn some of the files. To investigate this problem click the icon next to the files in the burn list"

There are no icon next any files! I have checked each file but none have recording restrictions. Please advise
