Windows 10: Not able to convert un-allocated space to free space in windows 10 ?

I have two disk.disk 0 Hdd 1Tbdisk 1 Ssd 240 GbI am making dual boot by installing ubuntu. I follow normal guide of dual booting. I created un-allocated space of 60 GB in disk 1 for ubuntu. But in process of installing It should have free space but it shows that un-allocated space as unusable so I am not able to partition it. So how should I make that partition free ?My disk spaceThe problem while installing unusable

Restore points are using more space than is allocated?

Configure System Restore \ Configure

4% (9.50 GB) disk space is allocated for Restore Points but ‘Current Usage’ is 11.17 GB. See photo1.

Step 1 - Clicked on ‘Delete’ for ‘Delete all restore points for this drive’.

Step 2 - To check again I repeated step 1 and popup (photo 2) showed so clicked on ‘Yes’.

Question 1 - Is this normal Windows 10 behaviour? Maybe Windows 10 putting security first and overriding user settings?

Question 2 - Is my disk space setting too low at 4% (9.50 GB)?

Allocating free disk space without creating dynamic disk

Hi,

I bought a new larger HDD and have cloned my original drive, which I intend to format and use elsewhere. The new drive has a boot partion C with Windows on it, as well as 1 TB of unallocated space. I want to create a new partition with that space, but when
I attempt to do so in Disk Management, the New Simple Volume Wizard warns me that the operation will convert the basic disk into a dynamic disk. The warning does suggest that I will still be able to boot from my current boot volume, nonetheless I want to
keep the drive basic to prevent other issues down the road. I also don't see why it wants to convert the disk in the first place, since the unallocated space is all on a single physical drive and there are no other drives connected.

Is it possible to allocate the space in Disk Management without the conversion?
