  1. Not able to find hotspot while sharing ethernet connection.

Hi,this week i got a new laptopAcer aspire 7 - A715-42G. In my room, the only way I can connect to internet is via Ethernet cable, so I need to create hotspot to access internet wirelessly with my phoneRealme 6. The hotspot worked well for couple of days, but it changed recently. There might have been a windows update, but I'm not sure. Now, I can turn on the hotspot while I'm connected to ethernet, but my phone can't find it. But when I connect my laptop to WiFi, the hotspot works just fine. I tried this with different ethernet connections but got the same results. Otherwise, my ethernet

Windows mobile hotspot feature wont share connection via ethernet

Microsoft Windows Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.720)

Hello, this is my first post so I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but as described in the title, I can not share my internet connection via ethernet from my windows 10 pc when using the windows mobile hotspot feature. The reason I want to share my internet connection from my pc via ethernet connection instead of through my wifi is that my computer is far from the router and I would like a stronger internet signal for my phone when I'm near my computer. However, when choosing where to share my internet connection from, ethernet is not an option, and the name of my wifi is my only option.

(Information that I am not sure is relevant)
Additionally, I am able to connect my phone to my hotspot when choosing wifi, but at first I did have an issue where my phone could not obtain an IP address. I fixed this by going into network connections -> properties of wifi -> sharing -> and checked to allow other users to connect to my internet connection through Local Area Connection* 10. After doing this, my mobile hotspot worked and my phone could connect to my computer, albeit at a decent wifi speed. However, when attempting to do the same thing with my ethernet, for some reason my Local Area Connection* 10 does not appear, and the icon itself disappears from network connections when my wifi is turned off and when my computer is connected just through ethernet.

Anyways I'm not sure if anyone will read this, or even be able to help, but any tips or advice you have will be much appreciated! Also feel free to ask for more information/attatchments or email me.

  3. Making a hotspot from Ethernet connection doesn't work ?

When you enable mobile hotspot, does your phone detect the hotspot network in the list of available Wi-Fi networks?

Go to Network Connections, right click on the Ethernet Connection> Properties> Sharing tab, post a screenshot.

Please specify if you are using third party Firewall / Antivirus.

New phone, slow shared ethernet hotspot

I bought a new phone (Huawei P9 Lite) some weeks ago and changed my phone provider. When I try to share its internet to my laptop via ethernet hotspot, the speed of the connection is quite slow.
I used to have a Nokia Lumia 925 and the internet would go quite well. For example I could play online videogames with around 60-70 ms. Now sharing the new phone's connection I can browse and stuff, but if I try to play an online game I have more than 100 ms and I noticed that sometimes the connection drops.

Do you guys think it's a problem of the phone provider (which means I can't do much about it..) or do you have any suggestion on how to solve it?

    Thank you!
