Windows 10: Not able to login to Salesforce app through excel connector

Logging the ticket on windows product line after confirm the root cause of the issue is on my my windows local machine settings. I have 2 domains registered on my laptop with primary as "Microsoft" and secondary as "Customerx" domain. Both the domain authentications are done through Microsft Entra AAD for all the 3rd party applications, I am able to login to 3rd party applications directly through the 3rd party portals with no issues via browsers. After receiving a windows update since last 4 weeks; my applications are not able authenticate the 3rd party applications due to conflict and de

What is App Connector...?

Right, you might not be a developer but at some point you might use a 3rd party UWP App.

The UWP Skype App needs access to your camera and your microphone ... while not a 3rd party App, Skype might not have access to those without App Connector - not sure, just an example.

The Google App (Ok Google) needs to access your microphone.

Instead of everyone writing their own access, getting permissions, etc, their Apps ask the App Connector to service their requests.

This approach is nothing new to Android users, when an Android App gets installed, it lists the permissions it requires. You either accept them or cancel the install. Most people accept and install the App. MS might be trying to get past that one install step by granting the permissions to the App Connector. The permissions are listed on the App page in the Store - nothing nefarious, just eliminating a step.

Keep in mind - this is all conjecture on my part - no hard evidence did I find *Wink

 

Not Able to login

Please confirm the following things for me.

1. Is your system connected to the internet? You can check this through the network icon at the bottom left corner of your login screen.
   
2. What error message are you receiving when you login with your Microsoft account?
   

I would suggest you to login to
http://login.live.com/ with your Microsoft account and check if you are able to sign-in with your credentials.

If you are able to sign-in with your Microsoft account on the live website, you can follow the steps in this article to ‘Start
your PC in safe mode in Windows 10’, kindly follow the steps in the section ‘From the sign-in screen’ and check if you are able to login to your system.

GPO restricted Salesforce Chatter app from Windows 10's Microsoft Store to connection Salesforce

We have encountered a connection problem after installed "Salesforce Chatter" app from Microsoft Store. The situation is some registry keys was created by system during first time launching the app on our domain joined Windows 10, please see the below:

Btw, if the app installed on a non-domain joined Windows 10 will not have this issue. May I know any GPO related things will create this kind of registry key?
