  1. Not able to open program when Icons are grouped in taskbar

I have a user that last week when a icon is grouped in the taskbar, you are not able to click on the program to open. You hold the mouse over the icon, see the preview of the windows and if you click on the preview, nothing happens. Singe icons work perfect but combined icons don't work. I fully updated windows. I reset explorer. I fully updated the drivers. It happens on every user on the laptop so not a profile issue. I am out of ideas.

    Thanks for your help

    :)

  2. Grouping Pinned Taskbar Icons

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to explain more. I have various apps/programs pinned to the taskbar. I used to be able to drag an icon for a program (e.g., Excel), and drop it on top of another icon (e.g., Word). Then those two would be inside a single "group" icon. When I would hover over that group icon, the individual icons within it would appear just above the group icon, and I could click on one of them to open that program. For me it was a nice way to organize the taskbar, particularly since I had/have lots of icons on it.

    System Icons on taskbar

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

    • Click on the search bar on the taskbar.

    • Type system icons.

    • Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

    Hope it helps.
