Windows 10: Not able to record system audio (YouTube, Spotify, twitch, or in game audio)

Hello everyone. So I was trying my hand at streaming some games and I found out the stream does not have my computer audio at all. This includes the in game sounds, the Spotify music, basically everything from my system. I am able to record sounds using my microphone. I tried with 3 different streaming software to no avail. Audacity shows that my mic audio is being recorded but anything I play on my computer is not. I have already tried the steps found online, setting device as default, running the troubleshooter, restarting my system and so on, but nothing works I am using a Razer kraken headset if it helps! Please help me figure this out!

Can not record audio.

Hi,

We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Windows 10 Game DVR audio recording.

Hi Jastin,

The Audio Settings in the Game DVR can be changed so you can disable the Audio when recording game clips. To do that, follow the steps below:

• Press the Windows + G on your keyboard.
• Click the Settings icon and go to Audio tab.
• Uncheck Record audio when I record game clips.

You also have an option if you want to enable or disable audio from your microphone. In the
Audio settings, you can check or uncheck Record my microphone next time I record a game.

How to make sure Game Bar only records game audio, and not audio from other apps?

I understand that you want to record the in game audio only and mute the audio from other apps.



You can change the game bar settings to record only the game audio. To do that follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows key +
   G to launch Game Bar.
   
2. Click on Settings (Gear icon).
   
3. Click on Capturing.
   
4. Under Recording, select the check box for
   Record in the background while I’m playing a game.
   
5. Under Audio to Record, select the Radio button for
   Game. (If you are still unable to get Audio, select the Radio button to All).
