Windows 10: Not able to "Sign in with local account instead"

Alright, so my Microsoft account recently got hacked and the hacked microsoft account is currently signed in as my Info and has the Administrator. Since I'm not login to that account, I'm not able to delete some files on my desktop. Anyone know how to resolve this issue? Pin does not work since I don't have access to that account anymore

Thanks for the response. What I suggest you do is to switch to a local account and then switch back to your Microsoft account.

Here's how:

• Sign in using the Microsoft account.
• Go to Settings.
• Click Accounts.
• Under Your email and accounts, click Sign in with a local account instead.
• Type the password of the Microsoft account and click Next.
• Under Switch to a local account, click Next.
• Click Sign out and finish.

Once you're done switching to a local account, you can now set your new Microsoft account to associate on your Windows 10 computer. Make sure to type in the correct email address you want to associate to your PC. Follow the steps provided above and click
Sign in with a Microsoft account instead to set up your new account.

I am still confused. You say, "you want to use the local user account instead of the Microsoft account."

If I am the only user of this computer, and I only have one user account (Microsoft-Administrator), where does this "local user account" come from?

Again, if I only have one logon/user account, does this mean that Windows is suggesting that I create a new "local" account?

And--why would Windows suggest this option? Is there some advantage to doing so?

 

Can't "Sign in with Microsoft Account Instead" for Local Accounts

Here's how I was able to fix my very-similar problem:

• Press Windows Key + 'R' key at the same time.
• Type "lusrmgr.msc" and hit <Enter>
• This brings up the "lusrmgr - [Local Users and Groups (Local)]" Management Console.
• Click "Users" on the left
• This displayed the list of users for my machine. There were 2 or 3 listed which had derivative names of the account that I was having my problem with. I'm not sure where they came from. I selected and deleted these accounts.
• Reboot.
• I was able to "Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead"
