  2. Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter is missing. Cannot start wifi hotspot. CMD shows "Hosted network supported : No"

My laptop is unable to create wifi hotspot through cmd, or built-in win10 settings. Also
MICROSOFT HOSTED NETWORK VIRTUAL ADAPTER is missing from device manager.

    CMD shows error:

    • Hosted network supported : No
    • The hosted network couldn't be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.

  3. hosted network missing.

    Hi,

Let us first check if your computer supports hosted networks. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Click the Start button.

    2. In the Search box, type cmd and press
    Enter
    .

    3. Type netsh wlan show drivers and press Enter.

    4. If is shows Hosted network supported = Yes, then follow the next step.

    5. Type netsh wlan start hostednetwork and press Enter.

Once you perform these steps, you should be able to start a hosted network connection. However, if the result of the
step 4 shows Hosted network supported = No, then you will need to update your network driver. Follow the steps on the link below to update your driver:

    Update drivers in Windows 10.

Let us know how it goes.
