Windows 10: Not able to update windows 10 from 1704 to 22H2

I am trying to update my windows which is currently on 1704 but not being able to do so and have tried all the below mentioned steps:-1 Tried updating from Check for Updates - there facing error "An update is being prepared for your device, but it's not quite ready yet. We'll keep trying or you can try again now."2I ran then SFC , DISM and troubleshooting for updates by reading from other threads but that also didn't help still got the same issue3Downloaded and ran Windows10Upgrade from this Link-https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10. How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2 Win Update

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Can some one help I am trying this steps in version 1704 but it keep bringing every thing to default Microsoft setting.

I wish things are that simple. My error code was 0x80246017, and I don't have KB5020435 installed so it's a dead end. BTW, MS lists like 6 or 7 error codes of the format 0x8024xxxx on the "troubleshooting WU problems", and when you chose next step, it suggests generic steps: run WU troubleshooter, check if your disk has no errors, is your remote disk is accessible, etc. Same as MS community; each similar error has completely different cause and (re)solution.
MS in notorious for this- if it works then OK, if it doesn't then good luck.
