Windows 10: Not able to upgrade Windows 10 from 32 bit to 64 bit.

I have Micromax Canvas Lapbook, which comes with Intel Atom x64 based processor and 2GB RAM. It came with Windows 10 32bit, so I wanted to upgrade it to 64 bit. But I'm not able to do that! I made my pendrive bootable, and downloaded 64 bit Windows 10 from Media Creation tool in the pendrive. But when I run the setup file from the pendrive, it says 'This app can't run on your PC'. I even tried to boot from the pendrive but nothing happens, my PC just boots like normal. So how do I upgrade my PC from 32 bit to 64 bit now? Is there any other method to do this?

Windows 10 Upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit

So, Windows 10 Upgrade is being rolled out worldwide, and I have 'reserved' my upgrade.

Currently my computer is running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I'm planning to 'upgrade' it to Windows 10 64-bit (via fresh install, of course).

After reading many references, these will be the steps I'll do:

1. Let the "Get Windows 10" app upgrade my OS to Windows 10 32-bit
   
2. Note the activation key
   
3. Download the Installation Media for Windows 10, but choosing 64-bit instead
   
4. Perform a clean install
   
5. Reactivate using the activation key in Step #2
   

(Of course I'll backup my data first.)

However, I still have some questions:

1. On Windows 7, the activation key does not differ between 32- or 64-bit versions. Is it still so with Windows 10?
   
2. Will I be able to download a different architecture on Step #3?
   
3. Is there anything I need to prepare beforehand?

Windows 10 (32 bit to 64 bit)

My laptop came pre-installed with Window 7 (32 bit) . I later upgraded it to windows 10 (32 bit) through online upgrade. So now I have windows 10 (32 bit) in my system. I want to upgrade it to 64 bit architecture. I also enquired about this from Microsoft
customer care. I was told that I will have to first go back to windows 7 and reinstall it in 64 bit architecture . Then I will be able to upgrade to windows 10 (64 bit). I have with me the recovery discs which I was instructed to make when I bought my laptop,
but I am not sure whether I will get the option of installing windows 7 in 64 bit version.Kindly suggest what is the right procedure?
