Windows 10: Not able to use icons on taskbar,

I have a windows 10 laptop which worked fine until just yesterday when after a windows update the taskbar had stopped working it showed up even on fullscreen I checked and found out that the start, Cortana, task view, and the search icon not clicking and all the icons on the right side not clicking too. even the snip is not working. when I change the volume or brightness or the volume the small window or whatever it is called did not appear on the top left. the task view is also not working the menu which comes while switching between windows is also not appearing. further I saw that whichever way I try the settings are not opening.

it showed the following message when I tied to open setting using the display settings in the right-click menu on the desktop.


The file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default app settings page.


also when I right-click on the taskbar it was the same as before but the right click on the start icon was not working. I restarted the explorer using the task manager but it remained the same. using some tutorials on the web I tried to resolve this issue in cmd which I don't know much about using the following command prompt

DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Then I restarted using the window that comes by alt+F4. but nothing changed.
Please help me out I am not able to access any app which is not there on desktop

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Taskbar icons

Hi,

To address your concern, follow the steps below on how to show hidden icons on the taskbar.

• Open Settings, and click on the Personalization
  icon.
• Click on Taskbar on the left side, and click on the
  Select which icons appear on the taskbar link under the Notification area section on the right.
• Turn on Always show all icons in the notification area at the top

How to remove an Icon of "eConnect by Harris School Solutions" on my Taskbar

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the "eConnect by Harris School Solutions"
from the taskbar and check if it helps.

• Right click on the icon "eConnect by Harris School Solutions".
• Click on “Unpin from Taskbar” the icon will be removed from the taskbar.
