Windows 10: Not another "Please wait" Windows 10 question

Hello all, I have a few Win10 AD-connected PC which, upon reboot, go into hour long "Please Wait" cycles. I've been through the startup and recovery processes, editing the registry, disabling services, uninstalling/reinstalling Office & java, etc. but nothing works. There is one oddity - if I go into add/remove programs, select an app to be uninstalled I'll receive an "another application is being installed" message. This also happens if I go to install an application. I have to kill the windows installer process and only then can I uninstall/reinstall applications. There is no message or

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
