    when pressing the update button or download button it will say its "downloading" it will then stop and say "something has happened on our end" this has been showing up for at least 2 months i have updated multiple times and troubleshooted so many times but it wont change

    In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
    Are you able to follow them?
    In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.

    How to make patch-able apps

    because the installer is a seperate exe.

    crude way of doing it, your app checks a file online for latest version of your app and compares it to the version number running, if update is need your app downloads the update installer, once the update has finished downloading your app runs the update installer and closes your main app. update installer runs all updated restart your app.
