    Trying to activate Hosted Network on Windows 10. The version I use is

    My laptop is ASUS X541A. When I checked netsh wlan show drivers on Powershell admin mode , I found this. Not being able to use Hosted Network on Windows 10 6ba7fa9d-9201-4c72-808c-a83c5cdd701a?upload=true.png


    Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adaptor is not present under Network Adaptors. Not being able to use Hosted Network on Windows 10 122da624-f98a-430f-9642-ba296d39553e?upload=true.png


    What is the easiest way to troubleshoot this issue ? I want to use Hosted Network. Thanks to all.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?

    I suggest you to refer the link below suggested by JayCap on November 19, 2015
    and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested and check if that helps.

    Hosted Network Supported: No after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1

  3. Windows Shell Experience Host using 35 to 55% of CPU usage on Windows 10

    Hi Don,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

    I understand your concern about CPU utilization by Windows Shell Experience Host, we will help you with this issue.

    I suggest you to try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Try to end the process from Task Manager and check.


    • Press Ctrl+Alt+Del together to open
      Task Manager
      .

    • Go to Processes tab, right-click on the Windows Shell Experience Host process and click
      End Process.

    Step 2: Boot the computer in to Safe mode with networking and if the CPU usage is same.

    Refer: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10


    Step 3: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

    • Connect to the internet.
    • Press Windows key and type
      updates
      .
    • Click on Check for updates.
    • Under Windows Updates, click on
      Check for updates.
    • Try to install the updates being shown.
    Also, visit the computer manufacturer’s website and install the drivers being found and check if it helps.

  4. Not being able to use Hosted Network on Windows 10

    hosted network missing.

    Hi,





    Let us first check if your computer supports hosted networks. Please follow the steps below:



    1. Click the Start button.

    2. In the Search box, type cmd and press
    Enter
    .

    3. Type netsh wlan show drivers and press Enter.

    4. If is shows Hosted network supported = Yes, then follow the next step.

    5. Type netsh wlan start hostednetwork and press Enter.



    Once you perform these steps, you should be able to start a hosted network connection. However, if the result of the
    step 4 shows Hosted network supported = No, then you will need to update your network driver. Follow the steps on the link below to update your driver:



    Update drivers in Windows 10.
