Not getting gigabit speeds, and it's on my end

About a week ago, I upgraded my internet plan from 300mbps to the gigabit plan. I'm still getting around 350mbps download.

I had a Comcast tech out here, and he confirmed for me that I am indeed getting gigabit speeds. He plugged in his laptop to my modem directly, and was getting 900mbps+.

So, I know it is not my modem or my cables. It has to be something else on my end.

The motherboard I have is the ROG Strix B350, which has a gigabit LAN port on it. Windows is reporting that my network connection is 1000/1000.

So, my ethernet port should absolutely be capable of getting speeds above 350mbps.

I'm on Windows 10 64-bit. Is there some sort of software setting that could be causing this? I have antivirus and firewalls completely turned off. The drivers are fully updated from the motherboard's support page. Windows is detecting that the LAN port is a 1gig port/connection.

What else can I try? The only other thing I know to try is buying a dedicated LAN card, but realistically I have no idea why that would be the issue. It has to be something software side. What settings can I tinker with?

EDIT: Also tried a few older driver versions. No dice. Keep in mind, I am plugged directly into my modem (SB8200). I know the coax going into my modem has the speeds. I know the modem is getting the speeds. I know the ethernet cable going from the modem into my desktop has the speeds. But something is stopping it from hitting my PC.

Windows 10 With Gigabit Internet, Updates Lost Speed

    Hello

I'm currently having some strange problems with internet speeds on my main Windows 10 machine. I have gigabit internet services but have only been able to get more more then 400mbps rather then the normal 800 - 960mbps.

This machine is custom built using Cat6a cable wired direct to router.

    - I have confirmed router is on newest firmware and tired different ports

    - I have Trend Micro antivirus on this computer and done scans for virus as well as spyware with Malwarebytes

    - Have done the steps online listed for Windows updates and bandwidth limiter

    - Confirmed latest NIC driver

    - Disabled all startup items to see if any change

    - On a fresh install of Windows I will have amazing speeds until the system does the updates.

I have confirmed with another computer wired that speeds are good without any issues. If it helps I do have a ASUS ROG motherboard. Running Windows 10 Pro. Any help on this would be great or if someone else has experienced an issue like this.

    Thanks in Advance

    Wyatt

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
    Core speeds
    Memory speeds

    Windows 10 Gigabit Speed

    Hi Chris,

A drop in Internet speed after an update might be caused by a misconfiguration with your network adapter driver. It would be great if you can tell me more about your concern. Kindly verify the following information:

    • Can you tell me the Edition and OS Build of your Windows 10 system? Click the
      Start button, type
About your PC, press Enter, and then scroll down to
Windows specifications to find this information.
    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you performed so far?

For now, I recommend performing the following the troubleshooting steps outlined in this
support article. The page has multiple methods that you can
try in order to resolve the network connection issue.

We're looking forward to your response.
