Windows 10: Not really a question, more of a complaint. Notepad upgrade in Windows 11 is terrible...

Basically, I have a file I use as a template and save as a new file renamed as the day's date. I shut down my computer on 4/3 after closing all windows, including my '4-3-25' titled notepad file. I open my template file today on 4/4 and save as 4-4-25, and notice there is a second tab for my 4-3-25, which makes no sense as I closed it yesterday. I go to close the file, and it asks to save it, I made no changes to the '4-3'25' titled file and it asks me to 'Save or Don't Save', again I made no changes to this file, I click 'Don't Save' because I didn't change it, and when I reopen it, it has

Upgrading to windows 11

I have a few questions about windows 11...

1. How many GB it is? when my pc suggested the upgrade yesterday, it said it's about 4GB just want to be sure.
   
2. I'm using a windows 10 pro so if I upgrade, will it upgrade to a windows 11 pro?
   

 

Windows 10 Character Map and Notepad

Well I found the answer to my question. I should have thought through this a little longer.

Notepad is native in ANSI mode.
However Wordpad can work in UTF-8 mode.
I found steps to make Notepad usable in UTF-8 mode but there are a lot of steps and once again there has to be a registry hack to make it work.
Now how do I make Workpad be listed in the most used application through the Start Menu?
