    Not receiving January 2018 updates.

I didn't get any January updates. I have intel and don't use a 3rd party av. I see that registry entry has been added. But how come I have received no updates at all for january? I feel something is wrong.

I did receive an update for my bios, and did receive adobe flash update. But no MS updates at all.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Rich.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 update crashes my computer

To quote an article from Forbes:

The good news is Microsoft has pulled the updates. For reference they are:

    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056897 (Security-only update)
    • January 9, 2018 - KB4056894 (Monthly Rollup)
    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056888 (OS Build 10586.1356)
    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056892 (OS Build 16299.192)
    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056891 (OS Build 15063.850)
    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056890 (OS Build 14393.2007)
    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056898 (Security-only update)
    • January 3, 2018 - KB4056893 (OS Build 10240.17735)
    • January 9, 2018 - KB4056895 (Monthly Rollup)
This isn’t much good for users already impacted and unable to switch on their PCs (there is no word how they will be helped at present), but it does limit the potential for future damage.

Hi, please post a screenshot of your Update History.

If you wish to attempt a particular update manually, each update has a thread in the News section, including a manual download link.

It's quite common for some to have updates delayed, or not delivered- especially the one relating to Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities. Please see

Ty for your reply. I have tried to run troubleshooter and it didn't find anything wrong.

I even connected to ms live chat and let them remote to my pc and they said everything was fine and to just wait for the updates lol.

But I know something must be wrong. I'm not understanding what the problem is.

Everything is NOT fine, you've missed two months of cumulative updates so far. You could try resetting Windows Update. Note that doing so will clear you update history (but not remove the updates, you'll still see them listed if you click 'Uninstall updates').

EDIT: sorry it was trying to stop it and I forgot to run as administrator.

Yes, it's a called amd64 because AMD designed the first x64 processor, then Intel used AMD's designs.

Looks like an improvement - at least it now sees the latest cumulative update. Time we both slept on it *Smile
