Windows 10: Not receiving pin reset email

Hello - my son's has recently been repaired - forcing a reset of his pin to log into his account due to the security change during the repair. The pin reset on my account admin worked without issue but the reset on his account cannot be completed as it states it has sent a code to his email address a hotmail account - the address is correct - but no email arrives to provide a code. It is definitely not in the junk or spam folder, I have tested the email account and his email account can receive other emails and the account already has an alternative address mine which is not provided a

Forgotten PIN and expired password

Thanks for your answer.

I tried steps of both links:

• #1: reset PIN code
  
  • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    
• #2: change or reset windows password
  
  • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
    
  • I am using a local account
    

If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.

No emails received

Windows home version 22H2.64bit.Firefox 109.0.1. My email address has not received a single email in 3 days,it is a hotmail.com address in Outlook, my other email address is working ok and I usually get the same emails in both.I did send a test email from the other to hotmail.com and it worked.Any suggestions?

 

Pin reset in Windows10 update, error 0x8007054f

Hi Marty,

If you're having trouble using your PIN to sign into Windows 10, try resetting your PIN. Follow these steps:

1. On the sign-in screen, select I forgot my PIN below the PIN text box. If there are multiple accounts on the PC, choose the one you need to reset.
   
2. On the Enter your password screen, type the password for your Microsoft account, and then select Next.
   
3. On the Help us protect your info screen, choose to receive your security code either as a text or email message. If you select text, type the last four digits of your phone number, and then select Send Code. Learn
   more about security info and security codes.
   
4. When you get the code as a text or email message on a separate device, enter it on the Enter the code you received screen, and then select Next.
   
5. In the Set up a PIN dialog box, enter your new PIN and confirm it. Your new PIN is set.
   

Note: If you've just updated your computer to Windows 10, verify your network connectivity by opening Settings > Network and Internet. After connecting, try signing in with your PIN again.
