Windows 10: Not recognizing both headset and speakers simultaneously

I can't get Windows 10 to recognize both my headset and speakers as separate products, while utilizing both my front and rear audio jacks.

I just purchased a replacement headset, and this uses audio jack connectors instead of how my old headset just utilized usb. I also have a set of speakers, which only utilizes an audio jack connector (no usb. Plugs into outlet).

• If I only plug one item in at a time, both will work on either the front or rear jack. So I know the speaker & headsets both function correctly. I even brought in a new set of speakers & encountered the same thing.
• If I plug the speakers in the rear jack and then plug headphones in the front jack, sound shifts to the headphones up front.
• Windows just lists "speakers / Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" the entire time, regardless of if I have the headphones, speakers, or both plugged in.
• Scanning for hardware changes from the settings menu does nothing

Any ideas? I'd love to just have headset set up as audio for my skype/online meetings & let regular sound run through my speakers like I used to.

Windows 10 recognizes my UE Megaboom as a headset and not a speaker will not work?

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately this did not solve the problem. I followed the steps but no luck.

Device manager still says WonderBoom headset paired it does not recognize it as a speaker as all. Any other suggestions, please.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

I suggest you try the steps listed below and check if it works. This issue could be because of the Headphones BT SPEAKER Stereo being set as default. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

• Pair the speaker with your PC.
  
• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device Manager.
  
• Expand Sound, video, and game controllers
  and right click on your Bluetooth speaker (BT SPEAKER Stereo).
  
• Choose Disable and acknowledge the confirmation popup. Wait for the screen to refresh.
  
• Right click on the same device again and Enable.
  
• Exit Device Manager and see if the issue persist.
