Hello. So I've tried all of the fixes thus far posted regarding upgrading to windows 11. I'm trying to avoid a clean install as I have a lot of files and apps that would need to be restored, and frankly I'm not in the mood to do so. I ran setupdiag and this is what it found:<SetupDiag xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/upgrade/setupdiag"> <Version>1.6.2203.16005</Version> <ProfileName>FindAbruptDownlevelFailure</ProfileName>

You can look into everything here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/115910/how-to-fix-0x8007001f-on-windows-10

You may want to make sure you have a backup of your stuff though. Since its not working well for the upgrade it could potentially get worse. Its not a great sign Not seeing the error on here that I'm having when trying to upgrade to WIN 11. :)

Someone else might look into the setup logs though. Might suggest what's causing it that way. I'm not going to. My suggestion is to get automatic backups going and to learn how to clean install faster so you can save time in the future. Then go for the clean install even though you don't want to. Its going to give it the best foundation.

Of course, there's other things to smooth this out like a backup image or drive swap.

If you want to be really safe then do backups to an external drive, drive swap in another drive, then try clean installing Windows 11 to that and make sure it works on that computer. You can always drive swap back to the other drive if you couldn't take it anymore for the time being. Then whenever, get Windows 11 setup with your stuff or try continuing the upgrade. It won't blow the activation by itself.

But, do as you do. You can always see what someone else suggests or tries having you do. I only offer possibilities.

Hope the best Not seeing the error on here that I'm having when trying to upgrade to WIN 11. :)

    Upgrade to Win 11

Trying to upgrade laptop to Win 11. My processor is listed on Microsoft compatibility list as one that will work with Win 11, but the health check says it won't and therefore will not allow upgrade. All other items on list are ticked green. Any advice please?

    Thanks.

Trying to upgrade to Win 11 not permitted to execute WindowsPCHealthCheckupSetup.exe

TY for responding. My Windows Updates are up to date. If I remember correctly, at one time I received a notice through Windows Update that Windows 11 was available but it indicated I'd have to wait (no specific reason given why). This possibly corresponds with what Techfreak_ suggested - Microsoft has yet to configure a Win 11 upgrade for my particular HP model that is still in S mode.

I'll try getting out of S mode and upgrading to Win 11. I'll post the outcome.
