Windows 10: Notebook crash, recovery

^ Several mnths ago my Asus ux31a crashed, started with a stopcode for Kmode exception. notebook crashes at various times in bootup

and very often goes straight to bios, 4 reboots usually gets me to safe mode, so tried to clean up many times, no issues with virus/malware,

notebook uses SSD and is partitioned

Very occasionally, can get fully operational for a only few minutes, so managed to save all my files, and now use an older notebook

I am using upgraded win7 to win10 and have purchase code plus managed to load latest rev of win10, and also updated all drivers

hoping that would cure problem

Never had any real indication that I have a hardware problem, I do have the systems info. txt report which I can send

The only thing I did find was at 1-50am ? 5 dec 19 event name StartupRepairOnline appeared which I think was first day of crash

but I wasnt using notebook at that time ? I am not experienced enough to interpret this complex report


Thinking only option now is a fresh copy of win 10, I have purchased a win10 boot usb but discovered no option to select

a usb drive in the bios drive boot sequence, so not sure where to head from here

Cortana Notebook

In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Cortana.
• Go to Settings.
• Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
