Windows 10: Notebook Hijaked by Windows 10 update

Good morning. I´ve a problem with my Windows 10 update. My Notebook Asus I5 4 nuk 8MG Graphic card Intel with Linux Mint boot startup.

Why linux? you say well, I didn´t have Linux till the UPDATES of windows 10 keep hijaking my Notebook in a scene like this.


Windows tells me "hey i´ve got an update for you"

Ok. I said. Start doing the updates in the night, tomorrow they´ll ve ready to work. Update & Shutdown.

I´ll go to sleep (I did´t have linux boot startup in that time). Thinking all the people I have to interview, work reports, spreadsheet i have to do

THE NEXT DAY! 8 AM

Wait..breakfast..shower 8.30 AM

More nervous..I´ll hear the HDD making noises of writing & reading.

After 2 hs (adding the night in total 10 hs. Windows 10 don´t tell me what the hell is doing to my system, my files, my life). and 15 minutes to my first interview with a patient.

9.00 AM Finally Windows is Starting and the logon screen. I´ll put my login cyan screen starting...and more now the circling ring...the F*.** circling ring just stay in there never starting the system (my HDD making noise like casino chips falling)

Ok. I´m a pragmatic nervous guy dust up my old windows 7 PC and take the interview with my very old pc. Reinstalling the new printer, loosing time, money, health.

During lunch I´ll check what the hell append with my Notebook. Maybe the HDD is broken (is new...but s..t happen)

Keep working on the logon screen. I´ll turn off the notebook.

And the next day the notebook starts fine y logon and my desktop appears. Mouse pointer moves..but wait..nothing start.

Chrome doesn´t work.

Task Manager doesn´t start.

Start menu works but nothing in configuration or nothing else.

Ok. Shutdown. Start menu-shutdown (nothing append) 5 times & nothing.

Task Manager nothing..

Close the lid of the notebook.

Pragmatic guy..why i´ll need windows.

Downloading Linux Mint.

Linux ask me when i boot up my notebook if id like to keep windows partition or format my HDD. Keep it

With Linux my Notebook works faster, my disk is calm, and every thing works fine. but my work need windows and his programs.

So Its not hardware..its the update.

So my question is this

¿WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH THE UPDATES THAT CREATES THIS KIND OF ANGUISH IN YOUR USERS (ME)?

¿Why Windows doesn´t explain what is doing in the background?

Sometimes my notebook productivity goes down because behind the curtain Windows is installing something that takes 80% of the resources of MY NOTEBOOK. Without asking, or without giving me real choices. We´ve an update for you.. would you like to install now?, right now?, or in 15 minutes? that not a choice. But that not the real issue,

THE REAL ISSUE is that the UPDATE DOESN´T WORK.


I don´t want answers to this question..Just to know if someone else has the same problem.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Cortana Notebook

In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Cortana.
• Go to Settings.
• Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.
