Windows 10: Notebook sound has loud 'bursts' occasionally

Every so often, I will unpause a video or do anything else that causes the notebook loudspeakers to make a sound, only to hear that sound blasted at an extremely high volume for a split second, before it goes back to normal. I don't know what could be causing it. I can't test it because it happens so rarely, but it seemed to occur more often after a prolonged period of activity.

Random repeatable burst of sound

I have a short burst of musical sound randomly whether any other sound is playing or not. I have updated the sound drivers, removed and re-installed the drivers with no change.

Any ideas appreciated

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Can sudden loud sound from internal laptop speakers damage other parts

In your mixer, go to "Enhancements" and try to enable "Loudness Equalization". It will prevent loud sound burst and also make dialog easier to listen in videos. I use it nearly all the time. very good, to not to disturb peoples around and make general sound level more even.
