Windows 10: Notepad App in Windows 10 won't print after KB5000802 update

The latest Windows Update 20H and KB5000802 caused multiple issues with my new Dell Laptop. Besides changing some of my network sharing settings, really messing up all the fonts and layout in Office Outlook, it made my Dell printer 'disappear'. I finally got that all straightened out and everything prints correctly including Word and PDF documents, etc.


But, it no longer will print Notepad. It always printed from Notepad before this awful update. When I hit 'print' in Notepad, it sees the correct printer and gives the proper message "Printing page 1 of 1". The printer never responds to it.


Any ideas on the trick to get Notepad to print like it used to? Has this been reported as a bug in the latest update? I see there are multiple issues with how it caused the blue screen of death and certain printer models not to work.

Printing the filepath in Notepad in Windows 10

We have looked into this for you, the ‘&f’ command in the Windows 10 Notepad will print the name of the file and not the complete path. For more details on the list of commands that are available in Notepad,

We appreciate you for trying the troubleshooting steps.



I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run Windows app troubleshooter.

Refer to the below link:

Step 2: Run shell commands for Windows store and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Command prompt(Admin) to open elevated Command prompt.
  
• 
  Type the following commands.
  
  
  
  powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml
  
• 
  Hit enter, the blackscreen will appear still for a couple of seconds. After a couple of second a new line saying C:\.... will appear.
  
• 
  Close Command Prompt.
  
• 
  Try to start the Windows Store again.
