Windows 10: Notepad can't find installed fonts?

I've been having an issue with Notepad since I upgraded to Windows 11 - Notepad can't seem to figure out that I've installed new fonts. When I first install the font, Notepad notices, and I can use it no problem. But if I restart my computer and try to open it again, Notepad's font is reset to the default, and it can't find the ones I've installed. The fonts are installed - I can see them in the font settings page and I can use them in other apps. But Notepad can't figure it out.Any clue what might be causing this? I know it's gotta be something with my computer, because I don't have this issu

The font file is TTF. Yep, exactly. Malgun is already installed but it does not appear in the list of fonts.

I did a little more checking. Changing the font with the steps you described: Format>Font>select the font>OK - should change the font of any text already written without having to select any text. Notepad is just a plain text editor. Fint information is not embedded in the document. If you want to have control of fonts and have the information stick, use Notepad++ or Wordpad.

You originally mentioned creating a font, however. You can't create a font with Notepad.

In Notepad, when you click Format - Font, does Malgun Gothic not appear in the list of fonts?

Do you know if the font you downloaded was a TTF or OTF type of font file?
