Windows 10: Notepad error: File system error -2147163896

When I try to open Notepad, I get this error: File system error -2147163896.I have tried to run DISM, chkdsk and sfc in an attempt to fix the issue but those found no errors.I receive 2 messages in the Event Viewer:License install storage failed for license Id d74bad95-80fd-fb25-cabc-4cf2b34ede4dType: 3Package if available: Microsoft.WindowsNotepad_8wekyb3d8bbweUser Idif available: Result code: 0x8004E1080x8004E108: Cannot create the process for package Microsoft.WindowsNote

List the EXACT "blah, blah" you mention, here please... for ALL installation cases!

(Sound like a possible "DLL-Hell" issue, but "Windows File Protection" &/or "System File Protection" should have countered for this... no biggie, there's ways around that too!)

Event ID for each error? List those, will tell you what caused it on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

 

CRC error

As some of you may know, I'm working on an ultimate sort of driver for the ADI1988 CODEC. Its going quite well, all files\mods are compiled, and the inf is written. However, there is one error that eludes me... basically cos I'm not an uber leet programmer.. yet.

The error is;




Now, before its suggest, no I haven't replaced this file, the file being used is the original file so this error, to me at least, shouldn't be occurring as I only know this error to occur if the file is replaced with an older\newer one compared to the installer being used.

So, anyone got any ideas? /nudge W1z? *Big Grin
