Windows 10: notepad giving error

After Windows 11 updates, I'm getting the "Can't find the c:" error in Notepad, and it's been slowing down my computer for the last week, it's getting too hot, I tried all the methods, I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, nothing changed, what other way should I follow?system not allow to add screenshot Error says : Notepad Cannot find the C: \SESSION:XCHLXCE1VKW5xQ24dAZxZQAAAAEAAAAAAYHBAAMAAAAAAAA=.txt file. Do you want to create a new file? Yes No

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
• Click on Startup tab.
• Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

I followed your suggestion but wasn't able to find Notepad listed on the startup. There are some listed as program but don't know which ones it could be.

Hi, my first thought would be to carefully examine your startups. Of course you can start with the basic list in the task manager, but Autoruns (free from MS) gives a lot more.

The list is divided into sections; for example you can see those from the Startup folder.




Startups can also be triggered as scheduled tasks (also shown by Autoruns), not just registry locations or the Startup folder.
