Windows 10: Notepad not showing in Apps and Features in Windows 10

My texts open with Notepad if I double click the .txt file.However, when I try to adjust the screen size at the borders, it doesn't respond. I went to App & Features to hopelfully repair it, but it Notepad is not listed anywhere.Where is it, and/or any thoughts on how to fix my ptoblem.Thanks,

Notepad won't open in Windows 10

I'm Louie, a Microsoft Community member and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. Hope you're doing well and safe there.

I would suggest you to uninstall Notepad and reinstall it.

To uninstall Nopetad follow the steps below:

Press Win+I to open the Settings.

Go to Apps > Apps & Features.

In the right pane, click on ‘Optional Features’

Type Notepad in the search box and click on Uninstall.

If you have uninstalled the Notepad application and now want it back, you can easily reinstall it in a few simple steps.

Open Settings and go to Apps & Features

In the right pane, click on Optional Features.

Click on Add a Feature

Type Notepad in the search bar or scroll down to find it.

Click on Notepad and Install.

Try to launch Notepad and see if it works.

Notepad replaced by WordPad

Click your Start Button, then just type notepad

Does Notepad not show up in the resulting list?

If not, open the Settings App, then go to Apps and click 'Manage Optional Features'

Click the 'Add a Feature' button, is Notepad in the list of features that can be added?

If so, add Notepad back to Windows

Then, right click any txt file and choose Properties, on the resulting dialog, click 'Change'and form there, you should be able to set Notepad as the default application for text files . . .

 

Cant Find notepad

1. Open Settings.
2. Navigate to Apps > Apps & features.
3. On the right, click on Manage Optional features.
4. Click on Add a feature.
5. Select Notepad from the list of available features.
6. Click on the Install button.
7. This will install Notepad.

If Notepad is showing as installed, kindly uninstall it first and then click "add a feature" and find Notepad from the additional features.
