Windows 10: Notepad RUINED

Discus and support Notepad RUINED in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Since Notepad got the Windows 11 treatment, it is almost unusable. It is so full of bugs!     Notepad RUINED


    Since Notepad got the Windows 11 treatment, it is almost unusable. It is so full of bugs! Is there any way to roll it back and use the old version again? I often paste things into Notepad and run a find/replace and it just doesn't work consistently anymore. Sometimes you have to select the find/replace option a second time for it to actually do anything, then when you run a find/replace, sometimes it ignores what you've asked it to find and/or replace and thus you loose content or mess it all up. Sometimes I've found that resizing the window helps sort out the content because its just some sor

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

    • Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
    • Click on Startup tab.
    • Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

    I followed your suggestion but wasn't able to find Notepad listed on the startup. There are some listed as program but don't know which ones it could be.

    Notepad on Windows 7\

    Suggestion would be uninstall then new install on Win7. Maybe an older version would work better? A list, maybe Version 7?
