Windows 10: Nothing like progress! .flac - .mp3 conversion

So on my trusty ole Win 7 machine, when I copy a bunch of music from PC to (say, Samsug phone) it Windows helpfully suggests I convert any of the tracks that happen to be .flac format into mp3. This is incredibly useful so why in the name of sweet weeping Jesus would they have seemingly removed this functionality from 10?! I copied a bunch over the other day expecting the same and it just fucking dumps everything across as is. Is this something I need to enable now or did they just decide it was too useful to keep as a feature, and I now have to convert all of my .flacs manually rather than have it done on the fly when I want to stick them on my device?

How to remove/suppress TSSE converting FLAC to MP3 with FFmpeg?

If I try to convert a *.flac soundfile to *.mp3 and use the command part -map_metadata 0 (or even -map_metadata -1) I always get an additional ID3tag entry TSSE or ENCODERSETTINGS with the content Lavf57.49.100.

I tried to remove this unwanted tag with -metadata TSSE="" or -metadata encoder=""but it doesn't work. According to Jon Hall, this should work, but not for me...

How can I copy only the existing metadata tags from the *.flac file without any additional information from the FFmpeg conversion?

FLAC to MP3 for free?

I cant find a converter to go from FLAC to MP3 @ 192kb/s... its really a bother... anyone reccomend one?

 

Flac -> Mp3 convertor.

It's for my car audio which can accept only MP3 through a USB device.

But then I am not too picky about audio and don't really care whether it's FLAC or Mp3 or whatever as long as the quality is above 192kb/s. But I do keep my favorite albums in FLAC format on my NAS. I just haven't had a reason to convert them to Mp3 until recently.
