Windows 10: Nothing starts after 2 minutes

My HP computer, after working well some years, got the following strange behavior: After log in, I could start 1 or 2 applications, than I could not start anything anymore, not the task manager, nothing else, and the computer did not react for a shut down command also. So yesterday I set my HP as retired, took a MSI, restored a backup of the HP and started to use it again. But today the MSI shows the same bad behavior. That finally means that I have a problem with the operating system. I just can not fix it, because I can not start any trouble shooting. Does anyone have an idea what kind of pr

I would suggest you to change the Power save option to avoid the computer go to sleep with in 2 minute.

Follow the steps:

1. Right click on the start button
and select Control Panel.

2. Next select Power option (search in the search bar option if unable to found).

3. Click on the Power saver and then select
Change Plan Settings.

4. Make the changes according to you and save it.

If you are still facing the issue then try running troubleshooter for
Power. Follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows + X key.　
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  In the search box, type Troubleshooter
  and then click Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Click on Power and click on next.
  
• 
  Follow the onscreen instruction.

Windows 10 (sometimes) goes to sleep after only 2 minutes of inactivity

Hello Mark,

Your screensaver might be one of the possible reasons why your computer goes to sleep every time the computer is inactive. It is possible that the idle time is set every 2 minutes. Having said that, you can try adjusting the waiting time by following the
steps below and see if it makes any difference:

• Go to Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization.
• Select Personalization.
  
• Click on Screen Saver at the bottom right.
• Adjust the waiting time and hit Apply.

Windows 10 Start menu is empty

Hi. Steps 1 and 2 didn't do much but step 3 has restored what looks like the list of original Microsoft apps but no sign of any of the many apps I have installed. And there are no tiles in the start menu. Any suggestions please?
