    Nothing works on desktop after restarting


    Hello, so this issues started a couple days back out of nowhere.

    I would turn on my PC for the day to work/game and when I get to the desktop everything loads fine but I'd click a browser and after minutes nothing opens, none of the programs would. I also can't type in search at bottom left.

    If I Windows + X that works and file explorer usually opens after time but thats all

    If I restart a few times eventually everything works as it should like it is now but I have no idea why its doing this, I have check for updates, run virus/malware scans and everything is completely fine.

    I am hoping maybe someone here can give me some insight on this issue

    Windows Version Number is: Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.329)

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

    Nothing works on desktop after restarting

    windows 10 deleted my desktop files

    Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

    Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

    copied all files again to desktop.

    Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

    Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
    Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
