Windows 10: notice from windowa that g mail settings out of date.

windows 10 is showing my gmail settings are out of date. When I click on fix problem and sign into google. Windows wants to be able to delete any or all of my emails and total access to them. So it can read copy or send emails from my account. I do not want to give google access to do all of this. Not accepting this has no emails able to down load, delete or move any. Is there another way to fix this and not give windows this much control? is this happening to anyone else.
