    I got my wife a new laptop, with Windows 10 this past fall. She keeps getting a notification of a receipt for Payment of a subscription to Microsoft Defender. We have, to my knowledge, never had a withdrawal of funds from our accounts, but this one looks like a receipt for $349.99! My gut is telling me this is spam and Phishing, wanting us to call an 1 845 ___ ____ number. Any suggestions on how to find out the legitimacy of this communication?Ratracer

    One of the factor why you're having issues purchasing an app in Windows Store is due to payment method settings. See this article:

    Troubleshoot problems with payment options     and follow the suggest troubleshooting steps.

    Let us know what happens after following the suggested troubleshooting steps.

    Nokia Music purchase receipts

    I have a monthly subscription to Nokia Music+ but my purchase receipts are going to an email address that is no longer associated with my Nokia account. This old address appears nowhere in my account details and the new email address is firmly checked as
    the address to send payment receipts to, but still I get the receipts coming through to this old work address which will soon be killed off. Any suggestions?

    Telephone notice of charge for Windows Defender

    On 14 July I received a phone message advising me that Microsoft had received its payment of $199.99 to renew my Windows Defender. They listed a phone number 805 366 3799 to confirm. I gave no such authority and made no payments as my version was part
    of the Windows 10 update. Please advise. Is this a scam? Please respond to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, which is a different email for me; as I think my sbcglobal email system has been compromised. Thank you.
