Windows 10: Notifications generated in the activity center disappear when I click on them (does not...

I have had this problem ever since I upgraded to Window's 10 on my Surface Pro (August of last year). Notifications are being generated from apps with no issue, but when I open the activity center, but when I click on them (right click, left click, or touch screen) rather than acting as a link and opening up the corresponding program generating the notification, the notification simply disappears. This appears to be a known issue, but Microsoft has seemingly doing nothing to fix the issue (just closing discussion threads so people with same problem can no longer comment on the issue.

Mail notifications disappearing from action center

Hello.

In action center, if I have number of notifications about new emails I can only open one from all listed, all remaining notifications about emails will disappear from action center... can I somehow change this behavior?

To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:

• 
  Type settings in search bar and hit
  enter.
  
• 
  Go to system.
  
• 
  Select notifications and actions.
  
• 
  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
