Windows 10: Notifications not showing up for WhatsApp desktop app

Hello,I have been using Whatsapp Desktop for quite a while and for a long time I am not able to receive any notifications from the app.I have installed it through the microsoft store.I have found another similar question on this forum but it did not fix it for me since Whatsapp, or any app for that matter, does not appear under the notifications settingsI have tried repair, reset and reinstall of the App.Please help me.

I understand your query related to notifications for WhatsApp Desktop app on your PC.



One of the things that you can try is to change the privacy settings for the notifications of the apps.

1. Press Windows + I keys together to open
   Settings.
   
2. Now click on Privacy and select
   Notifications.
   
3. Under Allow apps to access your Notifications toggle the switch to
   On.
   
4. Toggle the switch for
   WhatsApp Desktop app to On under Choose which apps can access your notifications.

Notifications not showing up for WhatsApp desktop app

Alright, so I recently downloaded Whatsapp Desktop from the Microsoft store, for the purpose of being able to see my message notifications on my laptop too.

What I noticed, was that I wasn't getting any notifications at all. I checked the settings within the app, and notifications were enabled. I figured I would have to go to the Windows Settings itself, so I did.

This is where I went.

Settings > System > Notifications & actions

My "Get notifications from apps and other senders" is enabled.

I scroll down, and I don't see the Whatsapp Desktop app.

Without being able to see it in the list, I can't enable the notifications. What should I do?

I appreciate the steps that you have done. I suggest you please follow the below steps and check if it helps:

• 
  Type notification on the search bar and click on
  notification & action settings.
  
• 
  And click on select which icons appear on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Turn on show app notification separately for each app.
