Windows 10: Nov 27, 2018 - CAN NOT move cursor while holding a key. TRIED NUMEROUS PREVIOUS SOLUTIONS....

Hello guys,
I have an HP laptop with Windows 10 Home. It's new. I only got it about a month ago and really only started _using it_ a few weeks ago.

I would love to be able to play games and continue my art business. Unfortunately, I am unable to move my cursor if any key is being held. This is a common issue, I'm aware. I have looked it up. I have sought out every solution I could. I've been looking for four days now, for anything that will work. And so far, I can follow every step- up to the last two in virtually any "solution" I've come across... For some reason, when I go into my mouse or touchpad settings, the settings look a bit different.

Nine times out of ten, I'm brought to this window.



Then promptly after this, I am directed to go to settings. Which is when it usually brings me here:





This is where it starts to look pretty different from the descriptions I've read. Usually because SmartSense is either under a different word, or what I'm looking at varies in some way.
This is also where it gets even more frustrating.



Because I get to this point, and not only does this look way different from the other images and descriptions I've seen. But even if I apply all the changes, the problem still remains.

I've tried so many different "solutions" and all of them vary so much in the end.

Can anybody help me?PLEASE do not suggest "just using a USB mouse." If I wanted to use a USB mouse, I would. But I want this fixed.

Numeric keypad does not move mouse cursor when Numlock is off.

Under Windows 10 OS the numeric keypad does not move mouse cursor (in an edit field) when Numlock is off it only outputs numbers. And under "Ease of Access" settings, "Mouse", "Use numeric keypad to move mouse around the screen" is set to on. However when
holding CTRL and press numeric keypad key, the mouse cursor does move to the beginning of the next word.

I tried 2 keyboards and both have this issue, probably not a keyboard problem.

 

Numbers Keys On Numeric Keyboard Not working in Windows 10?

There is too much long complicated fussy information to weed though about this but I managed to take a suggestion from another thread for an HP user and fixed this problem with two keystrokes. I use a new Dell.

Press and hold the FN key then hold down the Numbers Lock key and I got my numbers keys on numeric key pad back working again instantly. I hope you can cut through all the long winded answers and you find this and it works for you as it did for me.

I don't understand why these experts can't find more simpler solutions... Most all the suggestions require many complicated steps and this one is not even suggested that I could find when searching under windows 10... Certainly nothing recent in searches
came up and I searched on and off for two days. Maybe it's not much of a problem anymore?

Thank you both for your prompt replies, I tried all steps listed, some I had tries previously but I still tried them again, but still no cursor.

Do you have any other suggestions?
