Windows 10: Now access your password protected sections in OneNote app

OneNote for Windows already offers the ability to add passwords to individual sections of your notebooks for increased security—but what if you want to access those sections using OneNote’s Windows Store app on your favorite device? Today, we’re excited to announce that the OneNote for Windows Store app now includes the ability to unlock your existing password protected sections!

Using this feature is easy. First, make sure you’re running the latest version of OneNote for Windows Store app released today. Once you’ve updated the app, simply navigate to a password protected section and type your password to unlock it.

After unlocking a password protected section, you can view and edit its contents just like any other section—but to protect your privacy, page thumbnails are not shown. Plus, the section automatically locks if you don’t use OneNote for a few minutes. You can also lock all of your password protected sections manually—simply right-click or tap twice on any section tab, then select or tap the Lock Protected Sections button (power users can press Ctrl-Alt-L on the keyboard).

Password protected OneNote notebooks on Windows Phone 8?

1. Is it possible to open previously created password protected sections in a OneNote notebook on Windows Phone 8?

a) Is it possible to create a password protected section using OneNote on Windows Phone 8?

2. If it is possible to open password protected sections in Windows Phone 8, is it possible to:

a) Sync the notebook with its password protected sections via Skydrive?

b) Sync the notebook via the Windows Phone Sync desktop app?

c) Simply copy the notebook over from a PC to the phone using drag and drop over a USB cable or other PC to phone connection?

Opening a password protected section of OneNote on a Windows phone.

I do - I'm just saying that the phone obviously has the capacity to handle passwords within Office documents as it can access protected files from the Cloud etc.

I understand that the password for a OneNote Section is totally different but the Authetication
process shouldn't be.

I can't see why OneNote would be blocked from syncing them.

That's completely different. Your Windows Live account password is not a "password protected Office document". The authentication process for a website (Windows Live) is not comparable to the encryption of an Office document.
