  1. Now Gone: Photosynth, Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, and Travel apps

Those Apps don't show up in the My Apps section. I have 50 plus apps listed in the My Apps section. There are maybe 5 that I actually use. The rest I have never used and cannot remove from the My Apps section. Included in that group are MSN Sports, MSN News, MSN Health & Fitness, Windows sound recorder, Music, Video, Food & Drink, Windows alarms, Windows help & Tips, Maps, Mail Calendar People, MSN Money, MSN Travel. Windows Reading list, etc.

The only thing I don't like is when you don't get the option to remove a app you're definitely not going to use.

On somethings I'm OCD. As an example it bugs the heck out of me to see the exclamation mark in device manager even when I don't notice any problems running my computer. It bugs me when I can't uninstall a program or app. I learn to ignore it but I still don't like it.

What is it with all this blind hatred for anything new in Windows, Linux is absolutely chock a block with apps, I don't hear people complaining about them.
When you people buy a car do you rip out the sound system, the air conditioner, the windscreen wipers, the indicators, the electric windows, the automatic door locks.

It bugs you because you know there's something wrong, having an extra couple of icons is not something wrong.

  7. No, I actually use all those options on my car. Poor example by the way. Apples and oranges, hardware versus software.

50 extra Icons in My Apps is not a couple of icons. And I have more than just a couple of Apps I want gone that I can't uninstall. This is stuff that just clutters up my All Apps section of Windows that needn't be there.

Its exactly the same thing, they used to be options, now most are standard just like some apps in Windows.

Me, I'm exactly the opposite of people on here, I like getting things for nothing, especially from Microsoft, probably the best software engineers on the planet, but hey I'm biased, I've been using their software since DOS.
Oh,and I never had any problems with Vista and ME either, and I love Windows 8, 8.1.

Those 50 icons aren't installed, just like Apple and Android they are apps you have used and sometimes bought, pretty handy if you ask me, but then you'd have to use a lot of different tablets and computer, phones etc to appreciate that.

  11. It's a lot easier to remove (or it should be) an App on your PC than it is to remove any of the items you listed on your car. That's why they include them as standard equipment and charge you extra for them. You don't have a choice. Your not going to pay even more for somebody to remove them.

  12. That's just it, I never ever used most of those apps. They were preinstalled by the OEM and Microsoft. Most are free or trial Apps. There is no need to keep a record of them as I never even bought them in the first place. I agree, purchased Apps should be saved, but why lock one in if you just tried it once and then didn't want it. Or never ever used it?

Just rearrange the Apps you don't use to the back and stop worrying about them, there are other things in life to worry about like the Greek Crisis and Russia shooting planes out of the sky.

  14. I don't lose any sleep over it. But if somebody brings up the topic, I'm going to voice my opinion on it. IMHO, it needs to be fixed/changed, that's all.

These sorts of things don't worry me, the only thing I look for in an OS is speed, reliability and security, if I get some free stuff, bonus as far as I'm concerned. I like looking through the list when I change computers to see what I'm missing.
