    Hello.

I am testing the folder security settings NTFS on Windows.

Even though there is no group aaa-test in the security settings in the folder.

The user in group can access the folder without any problem.

Which one do I need to set for the group is not be able to access the folder without Deny setting?

Because there are a lot of other folders, it is impossible for each folder to set Deny

Here is the detail testing information.

    1. First, I created an aaa account in Users, and this account is in the aaa-test group.

    2. Create a folder "Deny-aaa_group". There are only 3 groups can open the folder Authenticated users, SYSTEM, Administrators

    3. However, if you log in with the aaa account and try to access the folder, The folder can be opened with aaa account

  2. List users from security groups who has access to certain shared folder

    Hello Community,

We have a shared folder structure, in which permissions are set on a security group base and not on an individual user base. Managers frequently are asking for reports that lists the actual users that have
permission to enter the folder(s). So we are looking for a way we can automatically generate a report to select a specific folder (and their subfolders) and as a result we get the Security groups per folder.

    For instance:

    Shared folder name: Share

NTFS Permission on share: ShareUsersRead, ShareUsersWrite

Members of ShareUsersRead: John Doe, John Smith

    Members of ShareUsersWrite: John Williams

I am getting The result as ShareUsersRead , ShareUsersWrite but not the users who are present in the ShareUsersRead along with their ACL's

Kindly revert if any more info is needed.

    Thank you in Advance.

  3. AddSub Win User
    Free Folder Lock?

According to the home page, ( 404 Error ) It has NTFS support. Just slower performance and less secure under NTFS vs FATxx. Supports Vista as well.

    Quote from author:

-Windows version: NT, 2000, 2003 server, XP and now Vista
-FileSystem: NTFS, FAT32 and all other file systems
-More security: We advice you to use HiBit to hide folders or files on FAT32 if you want more security, this because the folder or file hidden by HiBit on FAT32 FileSystem will not be changed and still in hidden status on other PCs and computers, or other platforms like UNIX and other windows versions.
-Fastness: if you want more fastness and don't care for more security on other platforms and other PCs you can use HiBit on NTFS filesystem.
-Large Files: there is no relationship beween HiBit speed to hide folder and the size of that file, but a large number of files into that folder may confuse HiBit and make it runs slow in compare of usual times.
-Removable Disks: HiBit it is a perfect solution for Portable and removable disks because you may use a removable disk in another computer, if you do that you will notice that your secret files/folders still hidden there.
-Fake Folder: you can use 'Fake Folder' function to fake your folder with another system folder form(system folders like My Compter, Recycle Bin etc.. folders), if someone opens your secret folder he will be taken to another system place, the folder still faked even on other computers.

[NTFS ACL Security]How can I open folders the user does not include the group of folder....

    Windows folder security.

Is there a way to disable ALL windows security on folders? I'm using Windows 7 and trying to replace some system files that may be currupt and I get the "You need permission..." bitching from Windows. I know I can take ownership of the folder through the security tab but it's getting REALLY old having to do this for each and every file and folder I'm trying to overwrite. *Bang Head :banghead:

I'm the administrator for christ sake. If I want to open my drive and take a crap in it, do I need permission from Microsoft?
