  1. NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate

    After upgrade to 1803 , RS4 , I could not set this " NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate" to 1 ( regedit , FileSystem)
Its set to " 80000006" after each reboot , so from 1 to this 80000006 .
This means I can not disable it anymore , which is bad for the SSD !

I could not find a reason or working solution to fix it , so went back to 1709 and all is normal again !
Anybody in the forum who faced the same error , or has a solution .................??

    :)

Windows 10 "date modified" for folder working properly.

I find your response more realistic and logical... (0:1) as you put it, hahaha.

My problem is that my folder modified date changes, just from opening a file inside it. I would like the date to change if I actually modify or alter the file. I tried to play with the 'NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate' but nothing seems to change.

    What to do now?

  3. Windows 10 "date modified" for folder working properly.

    Hi,

I'm using a local (admin) account , but I don't think it is a permission nor a corrupt file issue.

I also tried to launch one of the app that generate files in the folders as administrator with no effect.

As soon as I opened/viewed the folder content the "date modified" was correctly updated.

I think I found the correct answer which is the "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate" entry in the registry set to 1

The location for those interested is :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

    All the bests.
