    Null sessions are enables


    I ran a third party system mechanic app on my computer and the following came up after analyzing:


    Null sessions are enables. A hacker can connect to your computer using an unauthenticated "null" session.


    Should I be concerned about this? Are there actions I can take. This is my personal computer I use at home.

    Disable or enable Null Sessions

    A null session happens when one computer contacts another computer directly, without going through a user account. That's why it's called an unauthenticated session, because nobody signed in with their user name and password.

    Null sessions are needed so computers on a network can ask about each others' capabilities and folders so, yes, you want those things to be enabled.

    I am using Windows 10. Should my NULL sessions be enabled or disabled. How do I go about finding out what settings it is on. I'm not real good doing these things.

    How do I check to see if I have it enabled. We have a desktop down stairs and my laptop upstairs and I want to use items on both. Should I have the NULL session on? How do I check if it is on or off easily?
