    Num pad won't type numbers, just moves mouse


    Hello,

    Some time during today my num pad stopped typing numbers and instead started moving the mouse. It works just like Mouse Keys, but I have made sure Mouse Keys is turned off in the options.

    Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how I can turn it off?

    Did you press the Num Lock button? On mine by default it does what is listed under the numbers, the arrows etc. If I press the Num Lock key then the numbers work.

    I have a Asus laptop computer, Mod. number X53E. I have tried everything suggested to disable my touch pad mouse but none of the suggestions have help me disable it. Help.

    Hi Guillermo,

    Thanks for the update.

    You may follow the below steps and check.

    1. In the search option of the taskbar type "Settings" without quotes and press enter.

    2. Select Ease of Access option.

    3. Now in the left side select "mouse" tab.

    4. In the right side, make sure the "Use mouse keys when Num Lock is on" option is in "off" state.

    5. Now check if you can use the number pad.
